This Year
This year was different from all other school years. I did not know what to expect. I thought grade six was hard and I was actually kind of afraid. After I actually came into grade seven I realized that it was actually not that bad. The work load was harder but I was able to manage my time better and not rush things. We really started the year well we got to go to the beach for math and count cars for math; it took up the whole class. We went to the ropes cores at UBC it was really fun we went to the Aquarium; we also got to go to Paralympics events. I really enjoyed grade seven there was so many fun things that we did I could not even say. I thank all the Teachers for putting up with my messiness and a really good year.

My High School Trip
The high school trip this weekend to west van high was really cool. My group was Josh and I, our guide was Leaf he went to our school last year .The tour was not bad, it was cool but at sometimes a bit over whelming. There were so many kids. We went into the class that leaf would have been in it was cooking. He said that it was really boring, as well as really hot. Boy did josh and I agree it was super hot and super boring. Next year I don’t think that I could handle seventy five minutes of that class. I found the cafeteria interesting. In the cafeteria they had allot of good food like cookies, Pizza bagels and garlic bread and lots of other stuff that I did not see. I found it interesting that I was eating the food there because two weeks before I did an argument against junk food being schools. I learned about all the bad things but oh well I did not agree in the argument. In elementary school you don’t see business that often, but in the west van grade eight cafes it was so busy. I had never seen one room of a school so busy. I really enjoyed west Van high over all and am looking forward to next year there

bannerThis week was good; well it started off really good. My Bantam hockey team won the presidents series banner. It is my second president’s series banner that I have won, that was on Sunday. On Monday it was boring just like usual. On Thursday at my house the power was flickering I thought there would not be any school but I thought wrong I had to go to school and again it was boring. On Friday though we were able to be Olympic clothing as a reminder of the parolympics.I wore my hockey jersey and all my pins. Lots of my friends brought theirs as well. The only thing about pin collecting for my friends and those we don’t like is we kind of feel like nerds. The only thing that I look forward to each week is the end, unless there is something fun happening. Except this week I am very excited because my family friend’s son is racing in the downhill and the GS Giant Slalom in the Paralympics. I am going to one of his events. He was born with no hands and no feet, they are just like rounded stubs. I really hope he wins gold in his events or at least a medal. I will be cheering for him. What was also cool was that his sister applied to run the perolympic torch and was able to run it yesterday. On Monday I am looking forward to wheelchair curling I think it will be interesting to watch how able bodied curlers and disabled curlers are different.

Christmas Spirit
Today at school we made Christmas crackers. Our school makes Christmas crackers for people who are less fortunate. Some of the places we donate to are Grandview Elementary school. Grandview gets those crackers stuffed with Halloween candy with their Christmas dinner. Some of the children that go to that school that will be their only Christmas gift. Queen Mary another school we are donating to which I don’t know much about other than they are in North Van and are getting our crackers. Another is the Covenant house which helps children mostly teens that have run away from home. The last place we donate to is the harvest project which also helps the less fortunate like the homeless. I find it unbelievable that when Ridgeview started doing the Christmas cracker thing I think 20 years ago it was only to our sister school Grandview and now it is 3 other places. The Christmas cracker is a good thing because #1 it is a gift to the less fortunate who either don’t have a place to live or don’t get any gifts on Christmas or for some both. # 2 it is a good way to give to people who need way more than people in west van do. # 3 is it is a good way to get to now others in the school, and socialize with friends. # 4 my 3rd favourite is I get time out of class yippee!!

This week was a good week I was more adjusted to school and wasn’t late at all. We did not have as much homework as last week which was sap rising I thought have been reversed. There was a few exiting things about this week one was that the valentines dance was coming up and we are starting to talk about it in class and what will happen. Another exciting thing are Olympic wikis which are on mostly sports of the Olympics as well as controversies and so on. My group got the most popular within the boys and I was one of the lucky three. This week we also got to see our kindergarten buddies and play Olympic mascot games with them my buddy really enjoyed it. Finally we went curling I am learning the strategy and slowly learning to like it , and not just think of it as a old persons game.

The Week
My week was Ok. On Monday it was the first day that I did not have dry land which made me mad because I had no homework that day. This week I was very pro active and got my home work done two days in advance of the day that it was due. I never usually do this, this was an exception though because my Uncle from Ontario came out to Vancouver. He came because he is working at the Olympics, I am very happy because he will be able to see 3 out of 4 of my hockey games. I usually go back and see him ,my aunt and my cousins every summer but they hardly ever come out here. I am excited about the Olympics but my Uncle and my dad both RCMP officers are working a lot which sucks which means I can’t see my dad a lot during the Olympics. This we3ek was good in school , ha I never usually say that often but it was good because we did not have a lot of home work. It was also good because I went curling I like it but it would not be a sport I would want to watch though. I am very happy that the week of school will be over in five minutes because I can then do things that I really enjoy like homework, just kidding. I can play rode hockey, nerf war with my friends and a really fun game called paint ball. Yippee the week is over.
